Providing wireless access to digital resources

Remote learning remains out of reach for at least 500 million students around the world. Even in North America, half of rural Canadians do not have access to the minimum recommended internet speed.

Grey-box was created to address this specific social and technical issue. Our product, UNI, offers offline educational resources and digital classrooms in a tiny box.

How do we make a difference?

Grey-box provides offline and wireless access to digital resources in various environments and locations where internet access is unreliable. We take the best educational content available online such as Wikipedia and Khan Academy and put it in a portable device called UNI.

UNI is an easy-to-use local hotspot that can be deployed anywhere in the field, thanks to our network of partners. Our product, UNI, can be set up anywhere within a few seconds and run independently for days – even if the electric grid is down. This feature allows us to provide a portable, inexpensive and easy solution to connectivity issues while hosting various educational content and customizable files offline.
